Your contributions

The purpose of this position is to develop software modules based on specific market, customer or internal requirements for the HMI platform. This includes setting up the design, implementation and testing of the software modules, as well as generating related documentation. You will also extend the tools that generate software for customers, ensuring efficiency, reliability and scalability. Topics such as HMI software development, software testing and the creation of user-friendly interfaces are part of the daily work of this specialist. And furthermore, you will work on the following tasks:

• Within time and cost constraints, systematically generate and/or develop a design that meets set requirements. This involves consulting with colleagues inside and outside your field on the chosen solutions. In addition, you are responsible for the quality and functionality of your own code.
• Converting machine functionality to HMI software and user-friendly interfaces.
• Maintain and expand the software generation pipeline.
• Coding of software according to established design guidelines and principles.
• Prepare, execute and work with test fixtures for the developed software.
• Providing information to the project engineering, service, assembly and sales departments through technical documentation, time estimates and user instructions, among others.

Your profile

For this position, we are looking for a candidate with the following profile:

• Education: BSc level. Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Electronics or Computer Science;
• Several years of experience in HMI software development:
  • Development environment: Visual Studio
  • Programming languages: C#, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) elements
  • Markuplanguages: HTML5
• Experience with agile tools: Scrum and Jira;
• Basic knowledge of networking and security patch management is a plus;
• Basic knowledge in real-time embedded software development is a plus:
  • Programming languages: C++ and Python
  • Development environment: Beckhoff TwinCAT3 platform
• Basic knowledge and experience with Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, UML and design patterns is a plus;
• Basic knowledge of fieldbuses such as EtherCAT, ADS, Ethernet/IP, IO-Link and Modbus TCP;
• Basic knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC-UA and OPC-DA;
• Basic knowledge of MES/SCADA systems;
• Basic knowledge of ISA-88 / OMAC / PACKML is a plus;
• Experience in the mechanical engineering industry;
• Proficiency in Dutch and English, both oral and written;
• Willingness to visit customers (up to once per quarter).
