Software line integrator

For this position in Weert, we are looking for a software line integrator who is able to connectmachine controls and physical interfaces between several individual machines and/or third party equipment in a production line. You will establish data connections that gather and distribute data horizontally as well als vertically through the factory network hierarchy.

The purpose is to create a production line, which features the following functions:

– Optimal processing of batches;
– Centralized transfer of recipes and paramters to machines when starting an order;
– Generates and communicates production data for analysis.

Furthermore, subjects such as batch processing, OEE, MES, PackML – OMAC, OPC and data analysis have no secrets for you as a specialist.

Your tasks and responsibilities include: 

– Setting up network infrastructures or topologies, on both the network equipment and product security level;
– Creating, presenting and installing a (concept) design for data network solutions including data for data network solutions including data for OEE analysis.Op;
– Implementation of both embedded controls (Beckhoff) and/or PLC controles (Rockwell Automation) in a production line;
– Providing support and information to the project engineering, service, assembly and sales departments through (but not limited to) technical descriptions, hours estimates and user instrutions;
– Take initiative, guide and consult customers in discussions for production line concepts;
– Visiting customers on location (approximately once per quarter) to support installation and commissioning of production line projects;
– Visiting sub-suppliers for discussions, consulation, acceptance tests and audits;
– Alignment of future solutions with colleagues in related subsidiaries.

You bring the following background and competencies: 

– Education; BSc level (HBO). University of applied science in industrial automation, software engineering, informatics or another relevant technical background;
– Several years of relevant work experience in production line controls or complex, factory automation projects;
– Experience with setting up communication between a production line and higher-order systems (cloud solutions / MES / SCADA / ERP / VPN / SQl-server);
– Proficient knowledge of industrial communication protocols (like: OPC DA/UA) and automation standards (like: OMAC PACKML);
– Proficient knowledge of Ethernet and communication protocols: Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, Profinet, Modbus TCP and TCP/IP;
– Basic knowledge of internet protocols: NTP and LDAP;
– Knowledge of product security;
– Basic knowledge of batch process control according ISA-88;
– Experience with machine safety concepts and regulations (SIL / PL / EN 60204);
– Ideally, you have basic knowledge on IoT strategy, standards and protocols;
– Ideally, you have experience in the packaging industry;
– Can work with agile practices: Scrum / Jira;
– You have a hands-on mentality, are open minded, eager to learn and flexible;
– Professional proficiency in English and Dutch.
