Your contributions

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring and increasing our client's order intake and for increasing and ensuring customer satisfaction. Your job is to operationally execute all the duties of a Service Area Sales Manager and liaise with the departments responsible for quotations, order execution, claims and collection. And furthermore, the following tasks fall within your remit:

  • You understand what the customer needs and make sure the question gets to the right person in the company so that they can provide a solution or answer;
  • You will create and manage a plan for your clients in the region. You actively seek new business opportunities and close deals that fit the company's goals;
  • You promote and sell our client's services to your clients. You know your clients' issues and challenges. Based on this, you discuss how the services can solve their problems and meet their needs;
  • You keep track of all opportunities for new deals in the system and make sure the information is always up-to-date. You also create a clear plan of action for each opportunity. You use the system to provide updates on your monthly, quarterly or annual expectations;
  • You meet your personal targets for the month, quarter or year, as set by the Sales Manager for Western Europe. You also ensure that all key customers in your region are in line with the company's targets;
  • You will work with colleagues such as Inside Sales, Customer Service, Technical Sales Support, Field Service Engineers and New Equipment Sales to ensure your customers get the best support. You respond quickly to customer enquiries and actively seek new sales opportunities in your region;
  • You spend more than 60% of your time in direct contact with customers to develop new opportunities and close deals. You lead all key conversations and negotiations with clients and make sure everything goes according to the agreed rules. You also analyse why you win or lose some deals;
  • You will assist Service Sales Management with analysis and strategic advice for your market;
  • You will be responsible for reporting and monitoring in the SAP and CRM system.

Your profile

For this position, we are looking for the following profile:

  • You hold a technical/engineering and/or business degree or equivalent work experience;
  • You have experience in B2B sales of industrial, technical capital goods. Minimum 5 years' experience in Service Sales Management within capital goods or service-related fields;
  • Experience in the packaging industry is an advantage;
  • You have knowledge of SAP and CRM systems, e.g. MS Dynamics;
  • You have good skills in dealing with difficult situations and customers. You are driven to sell and have an entrepreneurial attitude. You are proactive and focused on results. You can communicate clearly, handle objections well and negotiate. You understand how maintenance works and how to improve efficiency. You can manage your time well and prioritise. Under pressure, you work flexibly and practically. You are confident and can build strong customer relationships and become a valuable partner.
  • Requires both Dutch and business English language skills, both verbal and written;
  • You are willing to travel up to 70% of the time.

Its portfolio of intelligent and sustainable technologies includes stand-alone machines as well as complete systems and services. Application areas in the pharmaceutical industry include production, processing, filling, inspection and packaging of liquid and solid medicines (such as syringes and capsules). In the food industry, the portfolio includes process technology for confectionery as well as packaging solutions for dry foods (e.g. bars, bakery products and coffee), frozen foods and dairy products.

Our client is located in Weert and is therefore easily accessible from Nederweert, Roermond, Eindhoven and Echt.
