For a temporary assignment running until 31 December 2026, we are looking for a Case Manager for Planning Permits who can start as soon as possible and is keen to take the lead on a wide range of spatial planning initiatives. Your contributions
You will process applications for planning permission relating to new builds and renovations. Examples include dormer windows, extensions, apartment blocks or the construction of new homes. You will assess whether building plans comply with legislation and regulations and whether they are technically and legally feasible. You will ensure that applications are carefully assessed and that decisions are well-founded. You will oversee the entire planning permission process and act as the point of contact for project proposers. Your main responsibilities:
- Assessing building plans and planning applications;
- Compliance with building regulations, safety and technical requirements;
- Coordinating advice on matters such as structural engineering, planning and the environment;
- Checking whether plans are consistent with the environmental plan;
- Drafting of decisions and legal justifications;
- Supporting project initiators throughout the planning permission process;
- Delegation of authorisations to supervisory authorities for implementation;
- Handling comments, objections and appeals where necessary.
Your profile
For this role, we are looking for a capable professional with knowledge of environmental law who can work independently and adapt quickly when dealing with complex cases. You will also have:
- At least higher vocational education (HBO+) level of working and thinking;
- Ideally, you will have completed the ABW1 course or are currently undertaking it;
- Knowledge of environmental law, architecture and/or town and country planning;
- A solid background in civil engineering or town planning;
- Preferably experience working within a local authority or environmental agency;
- You work independently, but you’re also a great colleague to work with.
For this assignment, we would like to receive a reference from a similar local authority where you have gained experience with medium- to large-scale spatial initiatives and/or planning applications.
