Your contributions

You, the Mechanic M, are responsible for the mechanical maintenance of one of the paper machines. Based on work orders, you will plan your day. You will also work on:

• Replacing all common mechanical parts and components and then adjusting them. This could be a pump, but also a roller or gearbox that is inside the machine. The machines are about 120 metres long and contain parts of various types and sizes.
• In case of malfunctions in the mechanical part of the paper machine, you investigate the malfunction and determine the best solution based on appropriate drawings. You carry out the assembly in the way that best suits both the fault and its location in the machine. When you are ready, you will evaluate the operation of the part or component you have installed.
• The maintenance break, which takes place once every six weeks. On this day, you ensure that the maintenance scheduled for that day is carried out efficiently so that the machine can be up and running again as soon as possible. Good planning is therefore essential. During this maintenance stop, you supervise the external parties you work with.
• Improving processes, this is something you are constantly working on. For instance, you look at parts earlier in the process to see whether they need replacing. Terms such as hydraulics and pneumatics also sound familiar to you. Together with your manager, you look at how maintenance can be taken to the next level.

You will work in an independent team. You will work together with two other mechanical fitters and two electrical and installation fitters. Your group leader assigns the work. Within the team, there is a lot of knowledge and experience, which is gladly shared. You also interact a lot with other colleagues, such as welders, people from the warehouse and fitters from other companies.

Your profile

Your communication skills allow you to work well with different types of people. You are independent and know how to take responsibility. You do not only think about the how, but also the why. In addition, you want to keep developing yourself and your technical insight gives you innovative ideas.

Whatever is left on your CV:

• At least a completed MBO 4 education, preferably in the field of Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics;
• At least 5 years' experience within an industrial environment;
• Knowledge of hydraulics and/or pneumatics is an advantage.
