Production Worker, Shipbuilding

As a Sprayer, you’ll ensure that various components and structures are optimally protected and given a smooth, professional finish. Your reward
You will be remunerated on the basis of your knowledge, experience and availability within the department:
- A starting salary of between €2,800.00 and €3,100.00 gross per month for a 38-hour working week, depending on knowledge and experience;
- €0.23 per kilometre in travel expenses;
- 13 ADV days per year, which are scheduled in advance (Carnival, the Friday after Ascension Day, and the autumn and Christmas holidays);
- Workwear, tools and all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) are provided;
- Working from Monday to Friday, from 7.30 am to 4.30 pm.
Your contributions
As a Sprayer, you are responsible for the careful preparation, treatment and finishing of various parts and structures. Your duties include, amongst other things:
- Grit blasting and cleaning of surfaces;
- Removing corrosion and old layers of paint;
- Preparing surfaces by filling, sanding, smoothing and masking;
- Applying primer, paint and various topcoats;
- Carrying out repair work on damaged surfaces;
- Working with various hand tools, sanders and professional spraying equipment;
- Working with a cherry picker and other equipment;
- Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment;
- Checking your own work and ensuring a neat and high-quality finish;
- Working in accordance with the applicable quality and safety regulations.
You work with precision and focus. Thorough preparation and a meticulous finish are key to achieving a high-quality end result.
Your profile
For this role, we’re primarily looking for someone who works meticulously, has an eye for detail and takes pride in the end result. Experience is an advantage, but by no means essential. Here’s what you’ll bring to the role:
- MBO-2 level of working and thinking;
- An interest in painting, spray painting, coatings or surface treatment;
- Relevant vocational training is an advantage;
- Experience as a painter, spray painter, yacht painter or in the metalworking/surface treatment sector is an advantage;
- You work with precision and concentration;
- You have an eye for quality and a meticulous finish;
- You are physically capable of climbing, scrambling and working at height;
- You can work both independently and alongside colleagues;
- You are keen to learn new techniques and tasks.
No experience? You’re still welcome. You’ll develop your skills largely through hands-on experience. You’ll be supported by experienced colleagues and given the time to develop your skills step by step.
